Chef Dustin Ricker’s passion for fresh homegrown food prepared with love and attention has been a theme throughout his life. As a child, he learned to care for the family farm animals and garden. Today, he follows those traditions with his own young family in Mid-coast Maine.

Dustin and his wife Amy lived in Aspen, Colorado for seven years. Dustin worked as an apprentice chef in various upscale food service establishments including the historic five-star Inn in Redstone. There working under a master chef, he rediscovered his passion for the culinary arts. Arriving back home in Portland, Maine in 1998, Dustin established connections with local artisan food producers, farmers and fisherman while working in several, well-known restaurants. These included Casa Napoli; a multi-regional Italian restaurant; Perfetto, an American Bistro; and the Portland Yacht Club serving traditional New England cuisine.

After opening Bistro at Spring Point in 2000, Chef Ricker discovered a need for upscale, sustainable catering in Maine and began to focus on the creation of memorable experiences in private venues. Over the last 8 years, Bistro Catering has evolved into a business that offers the finest and freshest ingredients including: produce that is local or organic, naturally raised meats and fish and the highest quality, specialty artisan imports available.

Chef Dustin Ricker’s passion for Maine grown and locally raised artisan ingredients compliments his enthusiasm for Classic European Country cuisine.  He infuses every dish with his extensive knowledge of specialty foods, natural meats and slow food. He blends a quest for perfection and attention to detail with his joy and natural instincts to produce truly distinctive events.
